one wild and precious life

my greatest happiness would be
to hold the mysteries of the world
to love the questions themselves
to care without boundaries
to grab the hand of a stranger or friend
and listen to the laughter as we ran
through fields of wildflowers.

meet ian scheffler, the little boy i called my boyfriend when i was five - he kissed me behind a tree and said he’d always love me, even when he moved to minnesota. i remembered him and found him on facebook, and he added me as a friend!
somehow, i’m not surprised he has a nose ring and is wearing pink-edged sunglasses in his facebook profile picture… :). some kinds of people you can tell are ecclectic and funky even when they’re young. i guess little mandy liked the kids who were odd even way back then.
